Building Resilient Infrastructure & Communities

Building Resilient Infrastructure & Communities

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced the new Building Resilient Infrastructure & Communities (BRIC) program and has issued the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). This is the first offering of the annual BRIC Grant program.  The BRIC program replaces the Pre-Disaster Mitigation Grant Program.

Eligible sub-applicants include state agencies, local governments, and tribal governments. All entities seeking funding under this opportunity must have a FEMA approved Hazard Mitigation Action Plan at the time the project is submitted to FEMA for consideration and at the time an award is made except for projects to develop or update mitigation plans. An exception to this requirement may be requested on a case-by-case basis in accordance with FEMA’s 2015 HMA Guidance.

TDEM has scheduled bi-weekly webinars about the BRIC Program throughout the month of September. Click here for the FY 2020 BRIC Training Dates.
